FAQ

Lunch

  1. Will lunch be served? Will it be included in the registration fee?

    Lunch is not included in the registration fee, but will be available for purchase for $5.00. The lunch meal will consist of 2 slices of pizza, one bag of chips, a drink (can of soda or bottle of water), and one dessert item. Donut Kingdom donuts will also be available for $1 throughout the day. If you choose not to buy lunch at the competition, there are a number of food restaurants and a mall within easy driving distance.

Elementary Division

  1. Should elementary school students register on their own or in a block with their school?

    Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate individual registrations this year. Please consult with your school's Mini-Mu sponsor, gifted coordinator, or 4th or 5th grade math teacher who is willing to organize the team in order to register for the competition. 

  2. Can I register my own child as an individual student?

    No. Please have all students register through the school. If you need the name of the sponsor for your child's elementary school, or need more clarification, please email us at [email protected]

General Competition Information

  1. How many teams per school will be seated?

    In the middle and high school divisions, only one team per school per division will be seated. In the elementary school divisions, all students will have the opportunity to participate in the team challenge.

  2. Will you have a t-shirt this year?

    Yes! T-shirts are available for pre-orders and there may be a limited number available the day of the competition. They will cost $10 each.

  3. Will there be mini-events this year? What will they consist of?

    There will be speed and mental math competitions for the middle and high school competitors only. The speed math test will be 20 questions and there will be a time limit of 10 minutes. Students may write on the paper in speed math. The mental math test will be 40 questions long with a time limit of 8 minutes. Students may ONLY write their answer on the paper, and they must write in pen. Any stray marks on the paper, changed answers, or crossed-out answers will result in disqualification.
